You obviously need some software to follow this. Programming is learned by doing it. Your textbook's lesson 1 has it, but here we have it too. Please refer to Appendix A to be guided guided through installing the necessary software, in casu Node.js.

The other necessities: an editor, Git etc. we installed already. At a later point we will add database software.
